U. V. K. Kumar has over two decades of experience in banking technology and last served as the CIO - Head of Information Technology division of Doha Bank Group for over 9 years.

Kumar has been instrumental in transforming Doha Bank to a technology savvy organization, improving both customer convenience and internal efficiency. During the period he has been spearheading the technology function, Doha Bank has become a trendsetter and pioneer in introducing multiple Customer Centric solutions using state-of-the-art technology, having the distinction of being the first to introduce multiple e-channel and e-commerce solutions in Qatar. Doha Bank’s internal processes have been enhanced both for efficiency and controls, with the implementation of various systems to automate workflows, credit rating and Human Resource Management. He has ensured that Bank’s IT infrastructure is kept enhanced with the latest technologies to maintain the quality of services and systems availability for customer convenience.

Kumar took active interest in identification of a suitable solution covering all functions of the insurance arm (Doha Bank Assurance Co.) of Doha Bank and implementation of the same.

It was under the guidance of Mr. Kumar that Bank’s IT Department achieved the distinction of being ISO 20000 certified, again a first in Qatar. ISO 27001 Certification for the Bank also goes to his credit for initiating and managing implementation of Information Security Management Standards (ISMS). Doha Bank also received Green IT Implementation of the year award from ITP-ACN 2010. The prestigious GOLDEN PEACOCK award for Global Sustainability for 2010 and 2011 was received by the Bank for its contribution as a Corporate Social Responsibility where IT played an important role.

Kumar is a regular speaker in various knowledge sharing forums in Gulf region, having spoken on various technology and banking related subjects. He was selected by ACN as one of the Top 10 IT Managers of the Year for 2003 and again for 2008 and also CIO-20 awards from CNME for 2008 and 2010.

Sreekumar comes with rich experience in acquiring clients for the organisation he was involved with in his long and successful sales and marketing career.

He was Head of Operations for Vayana and SolutionNET in the India, Middle East and Africa region. Was instrumental in establishing the sales, delivery and support center in Dubai for Middle East and East Africa market and successfully running the Middle East operations as a profit center for many years. Actively involved in budgeting, planning and executing all activities of a corporate to achieve success and sustain as a company to give returns to the shareholders. Added big names like HDFC Bank, Corporation Bank, ING Vysya Bank, Arab National bank, Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait, Qatar National Bank, Barwa Bank, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Gulf Finance House, National General Insurance etc., to the customer portfolio. He forged strategic alliances with leading multimillion dollar companies.

At HCL he was Involved in selling of SAP implementation services to customers. Clinched first major deal for HCL for SAP R/3 License and Implementation and grew the business from zero base to US $ 2 Million in a very short time frame.

At Ramco Systems, he was heading the sales function for ERP sales in the southern part of India. This was the time when Indian market was just awakening to the realm of ERP. He was part of early growth story of Ramco Systems in India.

Sunil Narayan has over 18 years’ experience in Information Technology, coupled with over 14 years’ experience in banking. He has also served with two international banks (National Bank of Dubai & Doha Bank) as IT Manager / Consultant.

Narayan has extensive experience in software development and management and monitoring of IT projects. He was part of the development and implementation team for Total Branch Automation at Indian Overseas Bank. At National Bank of Dubai, he managed development of Branch Foreign Exchange system and acceptance testing for Branch Automation system. He was actively involved in evaluation of systems for Insurance arm of Doha Bank and monitored implementation of the same.

Narayan has specialized in IT Quality Assurance having managed quality audit of multiple IT systems covering functional and systems tests, review of project deliverables and monitoring of projects against budgets and schedules. With this background, he successfully secured CISA (Certified Information System Auditor) certification in 2003.

He has also gained extensive experience in IT Service Management being directly involved in documentation, implementation and audit of ITSM processes at Doha Bank leading to ISO 20000 certification for IT Department of the Bank. He has already secured ISO 20000 Auditor certificate.
